Photographs taken on Tuesday 13th. April

I have purchased a hide (standard C30 hide) from Wildlife Watching Supplies - this was my first chance to try it out. I set it up in our garden to try and get flight shots of birds flying from one of the bushes onto a feeder. My best effort was:


This was taken with the 500mm lens, ISO1000 f8 @ 1/1600sec. Which shows that 1/1600sec is not fast enough to freeze the wings of a goldfinch!

The other shots I managed was taken on the log that I have put in the garden - drilled some holes and filled them up with peanut butter. This is a photograph of a male greater spotted woodpecker:


Again with the 500mm lens ISO1000 f8@ 1/500sec.
